Venky's Savitri Budget of 40 crores?

Victory Venkatesh’s new film Savitri was launched recently at Ramanaidu Studios in Vizag. The regular shooting of the film will commence from 12th March. Trisha has been roped in as the leading lady in the film.

Teja, director of Savitri informs that the film is heroine oriented subject. Suresh Babu is producing the film under the banner Suresh Productions. There is also a strong buzz making in Tollywood circles that Savitri is being made with an approximate budget of 40 Crores which is highest in Venky’s career till date. Well, the news can be clarified only by Savitri makers.

Venkatesh-Teja Combo Movie Titled 'Savitri'!

His 'Nagavalli' is slated for a release on 2nd, December and the new scripts are flowing his way right now. We have earlier informed that Venkatesh will be doing the two flicks simultaneously. The first one under the direction of Teja (Nuvvu Nenu, Nijam fame) is now titled as ‘Savitri’ which is yet another female titled flick after the immediate 'Nagavalli'. Venky had good success rate with female titled flicks such as 'Malliswari' and ‘Lakshmi’. Sources say this might be the second reason behind 'Savitri' too while the first reason being script requirement.

'Savitri' will be the product of Venky’s home banner 'Suresh Productions' while his other film under the direction of Trivikram Srinivas will be produced by DVV Danayya under Universal Media banner. While the latter film might launch in early 2011, Venky, Teja’s film might launch after the immediate release of ‘Nagavalli’. Other details of cast and crew of ‘Savitri’ will be updated soon.

Victory Venkatesh In Teja Direction

Victory Venkatesh has signed up a new film under the direction of Teja. The script of the film has been finalized by Venkatesh recently.

‘Savitri’ is the title under consideration for the film. Teja who always prefers directing films with youngsters is first time directing a big star. His last flick was ‘Keka’ in 2008 which resulted as a dud at the box-office.

Meanwhile Venky’s new film, ‘Nagavalli’ which is the sequel of Chandramukhi has recently launched which will be directed by P.Vasu and produced by Bellamkonda Suresh.

Music Of Teja's Keka Released

Music of Keka, Teja's latest film, was released at a star hotel in Hyderabad on Thursday night. The film starring all debut artistes is made on Chitram Movies banner after a long time and that it is produced and directed by Teja himself. Music is by Chakri.

Andhra Pradesh State Information minister Damodar Reddy released the audio cassette and presented it to D. Suresh Babu (of Suresh Productions). Teja released the audio CD and gave it to popular producer-distributor Dil Raju.

Though everybody expected that Teja would introduce the new cast (debut lead pair) at the venue, it didn't happen. He continues keep the names of the artistes unrevealed to create and sustain the curiosity levels among the audience.

Teja expressed high confidence in the music of Chakri and photography of PC Sriram. "The audiences are going watch a film with great cinematography, probably after two decades, in Telugu industry.

You all know that I was a cinematographer before I turned into a director. To be frank, my talent as photographer is zero before PC Sriram. I appreciate Chakri. There are some comments that Chakri will delay the output and that and all I don't know. For my film, he got himself involved a lot with the lyrics and background score. You are going to see the results on the screen soon. The movie has 38 new artistes and most part was shot in Kolkota."

Chakri said that he had put his soul into the music. He felt happy at the voice output of singers Hemachander and Pranavi and others for the music.

"It is for the freedom given to me by Teja that I could give idyllic, mass and melodious beats." The movie was actually set for release on October 2, but it turned out to be the date of audio release. The movie was also projected to release on October 9, but there is an observation that the film might release in the third week of this month.

Teja's 'Keka' Shoots Song In Chennai Pub

A song was canned between September 12 and 16 in a pub at Chennai for Keka presented by D Sureshbabu and directed and produced by Teja under the banner of Chitram Movies. Besides the hero and heroine, at least 150 artistes both from India and abroad took part in the dance. Dance master Shankar choreographed the song while PC Sriram captured it with his camera. Speaking on the occasion, director Teja said, "Generally there will be a mass song in almost every film under my direction. I chose to bring out such a mass song in a pub. The story of the film is quite novel and I directed the film with a different and variety screenplay. I am sure that it would be a definite hit." Executive producer Kethireddy Jagadeeswara Reddy said, "The song is almost like a title song with the lyrics going like 'Keka Pettaa... Keka Pettu...'. It was penned by Chandrabse and was tuned by Chakri with a mass rhythm shot in the Chennai pub and with this we have almost wrapped up the shooting. Presently DTS mixing works are in progress. We are making efforts to release the film as a Dasara gift." Editing is by Shankar, dances are by Shankar, Suchitra Chandrabose, lyrics are by Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry and Chandrabose, while story, dialogues, screenplay, direction and production are by Teja.

Teja’s ‘Keka‘ On Gandhi Jayanthi

Firebrand Teja is back. After a gap of nearly two years, he comes out with another love story with all newcomers - Keka. “We have completed the entire shooting and ready to release the movie. We are planning to release it on October 2nd as the Dussera holiday season begins,” the film’s executive producer K Jagadeeshwar Reddy informed the media today (September 6, 2008).

Director and producer Teja explained the reason behind his sabbatical. “My last three, four movies bombed at the box-office and I myself felt my movies were being repetitive. So I took time off to analyze where I went wrong and how should I make another hit movie. I have realized that most of my recent movies are not up to the mark. Then I prepared this script, which is not entirely love story. The uniqueness of the movie is the narration is very novel,” Teja said.

He also said that the script needed an experienced and visionary cinematographer. “So we approached P.C.Sriram as no one can beat him in camera in India. He put the condition that each scene and dialogue should be translated in English and hand over it to him. That took lot of time and that was the reason for delay in the film’s outcome but I am happy that we finished the project with very satisfactory results,” he explained.

Teja said music, cinematography and screenplay would be the highlights in Keka.

Music director Chakri said he is thrilled to compose music for Teja. “He wanted music fresh - far from my regular style and also asked me not to compose like Teja’s earlier movies. You will get to hear complete new voices and new music in Keka,” Chakri informed.
