Faced with charges of involvement in sex scandal Andhra Pradesh Governor Narain Dutt Tiwari has resigned on Saturday citing 'health reasons'. The clipings of ND Tiwari, showing him in bad taste were released by a TV channel Andhra Jyoti, has forced the governor Narayan Dutt Tiwari and the Congress high command to bow down the public pressure. Today afternoon the party command called an emergency meeting at AICC headquarters in New Delhi and decided to ask Mr. Tiwari to quit.
Earlier, the tape had showed that some call girls were witnessed at Raj Bhavan, which took him into the controversy and finally he resigned on Saturday. Though the opposition was baying for his blood ever since the sex slur allegedly involving the veteran Congress leader, he resigned from the post on 'health grounds'.

Earlier, the Centre had sought a detailed report from the Andhra Pradesh government about the matter. Home ministry sources said that state Chief Secretary Ramakant Reddy has been asked to send a detailed report about the allegations made againstthe governor.
the sting operation was telecast on Friday by the ABN Andhra Jyothi channel, the Raj Bhavan approached the Andhra Pradesh high court and got a restraint order on the channel from airing the footage. The Raj Bhavan termed the clipping as fabricated and a 'tissue of lies'.
The channel's Editor-in-Chief Vemuri Radhakrishna said that they have evidence to back what they have shown. "Let them serve a defamation notice. We are even ready to deal with the issue," he said.
This is not the first time that Tiwari, a former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and a former Union minister, has figured in controversies involving women.
Sometime ago, lawyer Rohit Shekhar had filed a paternity suit in the Delhi high court against Tiwari, claiming that he was born out of an intimate relationship between the Congress leader and his mother Ujwala Sharma.
The charge was, however, denied by the governor. The Delhi high court had rejected the petition on the ground that Shekhar filed it a long time after becoming a major and it was time-barred.
