Mahesh Babu Interview After Khaleja Success
Superstar Mahesh Babu-Anushka starter 'Khaleja' was released on October 7th. The movie is directed by Trivikram Srinivas and jointly produced by C Kalyan and Singanamala Ramesh was released after 3 years of Mahesh Babu’s last film 'Athidi'. The film is running successfully with the hit talk. In this regard Mahesh Babu shared his views and experiences about the film in a chit chat with the media personnel. Here are some excerpts:
Tell us about your working experience with Trivikram Srinivas during the shooting of ‘Khaleja’.
Both of us discussed a lot about this character in the past two years. We really worked very hard for designing this character. Trivikram brought out a whole different person in me. Due to ‘Khaleja’ I learnt a lot in my personal life as well.
The dialogues in this film are similar to that of Pokiri. Your comments.
No, I don’t think so. Both ‘Pokiri’ and ‘Khaleja’ are two different films.
You are basically a very quiet person. How did you manage to do this character?
Yes! This character has opened me completely. That’s why I’m talking a lot now.
Your opinion on Anushka.
We all know that Anushka is a star heroine. But on sets she behaves very normal, so it’s very comfortable to work with her. I’m very happy about it. She used remain on sets even after her shot was over.
Don’t you think there is excess violence in the introduction part of the film?
If you observe it clearly you will notice no blood anywhere in that scene. The background score is also very good.
From the audience point of view what is your opinion on the film?
This outstanding performance from Mahesh was possible only due to Trivikram’s direction. I just performed in his style since he wrote the dialogues and directed the film. I really liked the way he narrated the story. The film has a very good theme, 'if we help a stranger he sees God in us'.
Which is your favourite scene and the most difficult scene?
Every scene is a difficult scene. I liked the intermission scene, it was a done in a unique manner.
What was Namrata's contribution to this film?
Namrata took a great interest in my costumes. Since I knew no one in Mumbai she approached the costume designer Mamta Anand to design my costumes.
Tell us about your shooting experience in Rajasthan dessert.
The first fight for water is in the dessert only. Infact we too fought for water in similar manner and only then we realized how valuable the water is for everyone. We shot the film in summer days between 56 to 58 degree Celsius. I’ve never experienced such heat in my life. Still we enjoyed shooting in that hot sun.
The characters that impressed you the most in ‘Khaleja’.
I personally liked Shafi and Rao Ramesh’s characters. Both of them gave brilliant performances. The gave natural complexity to their characters.
So are you planning a social awareness programmes?
Yes, indeed! Not only in my movies, I’m seriously planning to help the children. We already spoke to Rainbow Hospitals and we will be implementing it shortly.
Tell us about Shafi.
Shafi is a hard-worker. He used to come to the sets even if he had no role to play. So Trivikram’ would ask him to assist him at times. Then he used to discuss scenes with Veda throughout the day.
How about Prakash Raj’s role?
I needn’t have to tell specifically about Prakash Raj since you all know that he is a great actor. I was a little tensed while shooting the climax scene as that was an emotional scene between us and we meet only during that scene in the entire film. Prakash Raj being a natural actor did it with great ease. I used to discuss that scene everyday with Trivikram over phone before going to bed. Prakash and I also had lot of discussions before the final shot. Both Trivikram and Prakash actually contributed a lot in making my character successful.
What was your son’s reaction after watching the film?
My son Gautham is yet to watch the film. But I predicted that the audio will be a sensational hit when I heard him sing three songs repeatedly.
Which is your favourite song in this film and why Mani Sharma always?
Why not Mani Sharma (Laughs). I'm thankful to him for giving the best song so far in my film career. Obviously my favourite song is 'Sada Siva'.
So can we expect more films from you from now onwards?
I’ve already answered this question many a times. Yes, from now onwards I’m going to deliver two films a year.
What made you to start a twitter account?
I started twitter in order to give the correct information about me and my events to my fans. Hence I keep updating my twitter account every week.
