Premkumar received two Nandi awards in two continuous years. He produced critically acclaimed Aa naluguru which got the best film award for year 2007. Now with Vinayakudu, he received the Nandi award again. Vinayakudu is selected as second best film for year 2008. Speaking to the media Premkumar said "I was very happy for my second consecutive Nandi award.I expected first best film award for this movie. I am currently doing Vidheyudu and I expect the movie will bring one more Nandi for me". He sincerely thanked jury members for giving this award to Vinayakudu movie.
