Tollywood Unhappy With Censor Board’s Stand

Tollywood producers are up in arms against suggestions made by the Censor Board and say that they will prefer to face the consequences than following these suggestions. They say it is impossible to produce films if they follow the suggestions of the Censor Board. Ever since different organisations protested on a few scenes in Kantri, Gorintaku and Ready the Censor Board has been advising movie-makers to be extremely cautious. Recently, the regional censor officer issued a list of suggestions on words and terminologies that should be avoided.

The censor officer advised the cine industry not to use words like Gudoda, Kuntoda, cheviti and mooga. The officer also instructed script writers to avoid using dialect and accent of a particular region in depicting villains and comedians in their films. But the producers say that these suggestions are impractical as these words and scenes are commonly used in a society. They say that these words are being used not to humiliate a section of people but where needed. They say they don’t mind braving the controversies than not making movies at all.
