Rajnikanth Fever Grips US


Super Star Rajnikanth’s latest Tamil movie ‘Kuselan’ fever is catching up in the United States. The movie is also being released in Telugu simultaneously as ‘Katha Nayakadu.’

The most awaited movie of the year from the south features the highest paid actor in Asia after Jackie Chan- Rajnikanth, the name that spells magic. The mega budget movie both in Tamil and Telugu was released in 50 centers simultaneously all over the US on July 31, a record of sorts for Indian movies in the US.

Rajnikanth films are known for great openings with fans flocking the theaters in a frenzied mood. Distributed world wide by Pyramid Saimira Group, the twin flick is expected to become the first southern movie to potentially feature in the top 10 for the weekly gross.

Huge 25 X 14 feet vinyl cut outs of the super star has been made in India and shipped to five metro locations in the US by Rajnikanth fans.

A group of enthusiastic fans, headed by Gowri Shankar, the moderator of the Orkut SSRK fans community tagged up with the sponsors Tirupathi Bhimas, a restaurant in the Bay Area, California for a Kuselan pre-release launch. Rajnikanth fans will get a chance to see these huge cut-out in Bay Area, Chicago, New Jersey and Dallas in theaters where the movies are to be screened. Bay area Rajnikanth fans threw a big party before the start of the movie when the banner gets unveiled in IMC 6.
