Gayatri Rao of Happy Days fame has also turned main heroine. She is playing the lead actress in a new film titled on her name - Gayatri. It has the tagline of - Andaru Ammayilu Oke La Undaru. The film was launched today (August 8, 2008) at Annapoorna Studios. Top director Puri Jagannadh clapped the sound board for the muhurtham scene which was filmed on Gayathri and hero Shiva along with the chief guest Akkineni Nageshwara Rao.
D Ramanaidu, Sekhar Kammula, K Raghavendra Rao and other celebrities graced the event. Newcomer D Sayendra Reddy directs it while Lakshmi Bhavani Movies is producing it.
“I am playing the title role and it is nice to do a film that is named on my real name. The idea to put this title is entirely director Sayendra Reddy’s,” Gayatri informed the media.
