Wanted - An original story!

The Telugu film industry is suffering from lack of proper scripts. Providing a convincing story in itself has become a major problem.

Unlike earlier, the writer had to look at various aspects while penning a story including the heros image, his stature and fan following, his body language, the production house which allocates the budget and the director who is going to direct the movie.

At the same time, there should not be any shades of earlier films that hit the Telugu screen. Keeping all these point in view, some of our directors started deviating the path slowly by taking up some subjects based on innovative presentation and treatment.

They realised that even for such films there should be some kind of base which is called a story. After giving a blockbuster like Pokkiri which broke the 75-year-old Telugu film industrys history, Maheshbabu is still waiting for a good subject.

As a result, both the films that came later like Sainikudu and Atithi miserably failed at Box Office. Almost after a one year gap, he could finalise a subject under the direction of Trivikram Srinivas.

Gossip mills making rounds in Film Nagar circles say that only 50 per cent of the story is ready and the remaining is still under construction. If everything goes well, and once the remaining part is okayed, the film is likely to start rolling in August.

On the other hand, a film that was supposed to come in the combination of NT Rama Rao, VV Vinayak and Kodali Nani is also in search of a very good subject and it is also facing the same story problem.

A rumour is making rounds that the regular shooting of the film is likely to begin in August provided the unit could zero in on an interesting subject. The most interesting aspect in both these films is that the muhurat of the film was held long and puja activities were performed, long ago without waiting for a story!
