Kamal Hassan Dasavatharam Audio Release

After the hype over his contemporary icon in Tamil cinema, it is now the turn of legendary actor Kamal Haasan to build up great expectations for his new film Dasavatharam, in which he plays ten roles in one go, a record in world cinema.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi proved that he was a big fan of Kamal Hassan and Jackie Chan. He did this by listing down some of the similarities between the two actors. He said both of them never shied away from taking any risk to make their films successful. Another point he made was that both the stars were born in 1954 and on the date ‘7’. These facts took everyone by surprise. We wonder where he found time to collect these details.

Karunanidhi was also impressed by the rushes of 'Dasavatharam'. He said that he couldn’t believe that it was Kamal Hassan who played all ten roles ranging from that of an American President to a Tamil Brahmin. He lauded Kamal Hassan for his splendid performance.

When he took the mike, Amitabh Bachchan uttered Kamal Hassan’s name thrice as if he was reciting a slake and drew immediate applause from the audience. He also appreciated the rapid progress that Chennai’s landscape was undergoing and singled out Chief Minister Karunanidhi for being instrumental in Chennai’s all-round development.

Malayalam superstar Mamootty was also present at the audio launch of 'Dasavatharam'. He said he was a big fan of Kamal Hassan, Amitabh Bachchan and Jackie Chan.
Jackie Chan was in a jovial mood. He surprised everyone assembled when he declared himself a fan of Kamal Hassan. He said, "One day we should work together."

Hema Malini, Asin and Mallika Sherawat were also present at the audio launch.

Kamal, who is known for his extraordinary acting skills and variety in his repertoire, also appears as a 80-year-old woman, US President George Bush, a Taliban cadre, a Sikh and a 12th century Vaishnava Saint Ramanujachar among his ten roles in the film.

Scripted by Kamal himself, the film was directed by K S Ravikumar, who had directed a few earlier hits of Kamal. Kamal's record is that after the eight roles played by former British and Hollywood actor Alec Guinnes and nine by late Tamil thespian Shivaji Ganesan.
